Local Students Visit Our Production House

The Future of the Printing Industry Toured the Full Sail Media Production House and they Loved What They Saw.

Industry experts are often talking about the future of print. On May 6th Full Sail Media got an up close look at the real future and it wasn’t the slickest new piece of equipment like our HP Indigo. The future came to visit in the form of young men and women from the Center of Applied Technology North, Print Media Technology and Graphic Design programs. These students are preparing for careers in the graphics and print industry’s. The students enjoyed a presentation by Brendan McCann from the Full Sail Media graphics department. Brendan discussed file preparation for print, signage and promotional items.

The presentation and question and answer session were topped off with an in depth tour of the Production House. The students saw up close what a production floor running at full capacity looks like. Their questions on the production floor were poignant, and it was clear the program at Applied Technology North is not only teaching them to use the equipment, but preparing them for careers.

Bobby Firestein, Full Sail Media’s Director of Business Development, guiding students through Full Sail Media’s Large Format Print Department.

After a tour of the print production floor and the large format department, we worked in Full Sail’s growing “Swag Shop” where the students all left with custom shirts. Upon their graduation many of these amazing students will be looking for work and for some of them Full Sail Media just might be that all important first full time job.
