This is Roxy. She’s a black, plush-coat German Shepherd
- How long has she been part of your family?
She was born on January 28, 2024. We acquired Roxy from Misty Ridge German Shepherds in New Windsor, Maryland, where six years ago, we got our shepherd Diamond, who is a Red/Black Saddleback.
- What is Roxy’s most endearing or amusing trait?
She is very smart and has already learned the five common commands but she’s still learning. Roxy loves playing with her big sister and is learning the way of the land.
- Is her big sister teaching her?
Her big sister has been showing her how to behave, but certainly let’s her know who’s boss.
- Describe her typical day.
Since everyone in the household works, Roxy has two hours of playtime in the morning. Then, she goes to her crate (which she loves) and gets her treat ball. Roxy sleeps most of the day when the house is empty; her sister, Diamond, sometimes goes next to the crate and sleeps with her. When the family gets home, it is game on.
- What happens then?
Roxy’s favorite toy is a bouncing ball; she is a great jumper and catcher. She can play for hours and will go to one person in the room after another looking for a playmate.
- Have there been challenges with her settling in?
Roxy still has not gotten her walking on the leash down yet but is getting there, and we are looking forward to taking her for walks with her big sister in the park. Life at the Vetter household has been forever changed with the addition of this little fur ball; more to come!
